I purchased the bus intending to do a conversion. I purchased the bus sight unseen and was pleased to see what I got. Here are the obvious items I have seen and know about.
Very Clean interior. New Seating was installed just before the bus was traded in. VERY good shape.
Ready to use.
Has a Radio/VCR system with 3 monitors. Radio works, I dont know about the VCR.
Hub odometer says 169,000+. I assume this is on the engine.
The engine is a 6v71 non Turbo and is very peppy. It is more peppy than in my personal renovated bus (same engine).
Tires are about 40% in front and about 20% in rear.
Bus will travel at 65 MPH steadily.
Brakes are well adjusted. The bus stops straight. No pulling to either side. Parking, Emergency Brakes are solid.
Air system is handles Brakes and Air bags system.
Engine starts immediately. Does not smoke.
I personally drove the bus 500 miles from Camden NJ to Auburn ME without incident.
Engine Temp stayed at 170 degrees F and Oil Pressure stayed at 35 PSI.
There is minor cosmetic damage to the upper Right Rear Corner.
The bus has air actuated Bi-Fold Doors controlled from a switch on the dash and outside of the bus.
All lights work including Brakes and directionals, low and high beam and inside passenger lighting.
Bathroom is thoroughly clean. Dump valve is in the lower Right Rear Engine Compartment.
A/C is a Freon 22 system. Some new hoses. Does not cool at this time. Suspect leakage.
Dual Roof (former greyhound Saudi bus).
Here are some pics.......
To see what you could do with this bus, take a look at my personal Mc5C (1979) converted to a coach.
