the REMOVAL of...... Windows (August 2002)
Window removal begins with removing the 2 1/2" trim piece at the top and bottom of the window frames. Once the trim is gone, you can reach the 3 hinge pins on each windows. Pop those out and get ready to support near 100 pounds of glass and windows trim. The really big job is removing the aluminum frames. I'll bet you that I chopped the head off of some 1500 rivets. The tool of choice was a sharp cold chisel. The 1/4" rivet head came right off with one good blow.
One rivet at a time and eventually it all comes apart. Of course there are a few stubborn stainless screws that loose their heads. But we were able to convince them to come out.
